The book has also discussed the brief history of the Bhutia Tribe, and the Bhutia People their family, traditional dress and jewellery, food, marriage custom and death rituals. It has also included the Development of Bhutia people of Sikkim and have elaborately explained the patterns of process of Educational Choices and the correlated like socioeconomic status and gender. The book has spelt out that the agencies and stakeholders on whom the information of book will be helpful as well as discussed the proposal to help the Bhutia students in making proper decisions in educational choices and help to overcome the dilemmas and problems concerning education and educational problems.
About the Author: Dr Kunzang Peden Bhutia (b.1989) holds master’s, M.Ed and Doctorate degree in Education. Presently she is working as an Assistant Professor in Sikkim Government College Burtuk, Education Department, Government of Sikkim. She has published a few articles in journals and has also presented papers in national and international seminars. Her major academic interests include tribal studies and educational psychology. She also holds NET (National Eligibility Test) and SLET (State Level Eligibility Test) in Education.
Dr Yodida Bhutia (b.1974) has obtained B.Sc. MA(Eng), M.Ed. MA (Edu), PGDHE, PhD. She has also earned Post Doctorate from the University of the Aegean (Greece). She has worked as the Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong at Meghalaya from 2009 to 2017. Since 2017 September, she is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Education, Sikkim University, Gangtok. She has presented papers in different national and international seminars. She has authored books -Higher Education: Status and Problems in Sikkim; Development of Education System in India; Institutional Assessment of Colleges of Sikkim; Mental Health Education; Secondary Education in Sikkim; Elementary Education in Sikkim. She has conducted successfully numerous International and National research projects to name few a project under United Kingdom India Education Research Initiative funded by the British Council from 2008-2012, in 2014-2016 another project on Development of Secondary Education in Sikkim which was by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi and 2020-2022 a project on Development of Women Education and Problem of Women students pursuing Higher Education in Sikkim which is sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi.
