The New farming system has provided sufficient food grain to the country by increasing production but at the same time cutoff our people from rich heritage, traditional agricultural wisdom and knowledge. As a result, farmers have to use excessive/indiscriminate chemical fertilizers and pesticides, exhausted unlimited groundwater and other natural resources, which degraded the environment and its components We are reimagining the scenario of Indian agriculture with increased farmers' income, reduced fertilizer and water usages, increased renewable energy use, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and restoration of degraded soil. For creation of such situation there is a need to place ancient and modern agricultural sciences in parallel, so that the balance of Panchmahabhut (soil, water, fire, air and sky), governing the entire agricultural ecology, would be maintained and restored. "Text book of Natural Farming" has been developed, comprising of 22 chapters, covering entire course curriculum of B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.) Natural Farming as per the recommendations of the 6th Dean's Committee Report. This book includes possible arena like; Concept, Component and System of Natural Farming, ITKs, Crop/Breed/Strain Production Protection and Improvement, Soil Health Management, Livestock Management, Argo-Forestry, Weather Forecasting, Farm Machinery, Post Harvest Management, Community Mobilization, Economics and Marketing.
