Description
In India tribal people play a key part in constructing the cultural heritage and its uniqueness of ‘unity in diversity’. They occupy a major part in the history as they are considered as the true habitants of India. However, they are considering as the weakest sections in our society. The problems faced by the tribal communities are many. The health disadvantages among the tribal communities are considered as the biggest challenge. The theme of the book is the reproductive health problems faced by the tribal women in Wayanad district of Kerala. A scientific enquiry was carried out to understand the depth of the problem. Social Work interventions for improving the reproductive health conditions of the people belonged to the tribal communities are described. It was envisioned that, this academic document will give further scope for better implementation of reproductive health care services in the tribal regions of India. And thereby the health rights of the “last, least and lost sections” of the society can be gained. This present research study throws light on the reproductive health dimensions of the tribal women in Kerala. Women of the two major tribal communities in Kerala, namely the Paniya and Kurichya were selected this study.
