Nageswara Rao, Shri PBS voice contributed to Kannada Kanteerava Shri Rajkumar's career. Even today Kannadigas have a lot of veneration for Shri PBS. He, being a polyglot, not only sang film songs but also rendered a number of the traditional Stotras, Dandakam and Ashtakams in Sanskrit. It is a well known fact that Ghantasala was a pioneer in the renditions of the Stotras, Dandakams and Ashtakams. His Bani -style of rendition- was followed by many singers in the Southern India. Instead of following his senior Ghantasala 'Bani, he created his own 'Bani. If playback singing were his metier, Ghazal was his forte. PBS was a great admirer of Shahanshah-e-Ghazal. Mehdi Hassan and was inspired and influenced by Mehdi Hassan's extraordinary style of Ghazal rendition.
