The future of human prosperity critically depends on our initiatives to tackle the two key energy challenges – securing the supply of reliable and affordable energy, and making a rapid transition to a low-carbon and environment-friendly energy supply. Current global trends in energy supply and consumption are unsustainable –environmentally, economically and societally. The energy scenario in India is evolving rapidly in sync with the expanding economy, population, urbanization and industrialization. India’s future prosperity will hinge on the availability of affordable, clean and reliable energy.
