About the Book

The book is an effort to evaluate Agatha Christie's works with a special emphasis on Miss Jane Marple, one of her admired sleuths, as it is presupposed that Christie has fallen in love with her own creation who sometimes even reflects to be her alter-ego. Miss Marple puts her signature as an Agatha Christie (1890-1976) sleuth while investing her inborn observing faculty of studying human nature from her long experience of village-cum-country life in search of an uncompromising and justifiable reality that can be termed as "truth". It is quite curious that Agatha Christie's fiction comprises the domestic world dominated by relationships where inherent desires, dormant passions, love and sex, pursuit for position, fame and money, obsession and envy, break forth in crimes. Christie, being born in an aristocratic class, realized that there are some domestic spheres of feminine nitty-gritties where Poirot cannot burge in.
