About the Book
Chhattisgarh is famous for it's tribes and their pristine culture. A large number of tribes, especially in Bastar and Surguja area, are still living in deep forests and avoid mixing with outsiders in order to protect their own unique culture. In fact some of the India's oldest tribal communities are living in this area. Because of industrialisation, westernisation and urbanisation their society and culture are affected but they have saved many of their cultural traits and continue to hold their identity. They are socially very developed and content in their social life. The society has to learn a lot from them. Further, most of the tribal areas of the state are situated in the vicinity of forests, hills, springs, rivers and wildlife sanctuaries.
