The present book consisting of eighteen chapters is a compendium of the Chakma tribe spread across South-East Asia. It addresses the anthropological, cultural, social, socio-political aspects of this tribal community. It has covered Chakmas’ history, lifestyle, cultivation, language and script, religious beliefs, myths, indigenous medicine, rites and festivals, games and sports, literature, marriage, death, hunting, socio-political condition, etc. It is hoped that this book will greatly help the readers to explore several areas of this tribe so far untold or unaddressed.
