This book describes and illustrates certain important expect of the art of northeast frontier. The author has concentrated mainly on fabric, wood-carving and cane-work since it involves dress and personal adornment. Pottery, which is little developed is also covered. The author believes that by encouraging the arts of the tribal people will give them pride, which will help them in improving on their patterns and designs. Much of the frontier was little explored and also little understood before independence. Wonderful roads now link them with the plains and the tribal’s are beginning to release that they have a vital contribution to make to the a rest of India
