About the Book In this book the author has developed the concept of the Indian mindset required for India to modernize as an innovative global economy cum military power that matches the requirements of playing a role on the global scene. For this purpose, he advocates a new ideology of the modern right which is based on the concept of a national identity rooted in Hindutva; and which identity defining characteristic is culled from a clear perception of the correct history of India. He says that such an ideology of India's modern right is based on India's constitutional framework, modern Hindutva, and ancient Hindu values for governance principles. About the Author Born in Mylapore, Chennai, on 15 September 1939, Dr. Swamy holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, where he also taught for ten years, and has published famous joint papers on the Theory of Index Numbers with Nobel Laureate Paul A. Samuelson. He is recognized internationally as an authority on the economy of China. Dr. Swamy taught at Harvard two courses in Economics, one on mathematical methods, and another on China. He has been elected six times to Parliament since 1974 [three Lok Sabha, three Rajya Sabha] and has held senior Cabinet Minister rank position twice. Dr. Swamy also held a Cabinet rank post in Rao's government as Chairman of a Commission on WTO issues. Dr. Swamy was the President of the Janata Party. He merged his party on 11 August 2013 with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and is a member of the National Executive of the party. He also serves as chairman of the Board of Governors of the SCMS Group of Educational Institutions in Kerala. Subramanian Swamy is a published author of several books, research papers and journals. He received Distinguished Alumni Award from Hindu College, University of Delhi, in 2012; Hindu Ratna Award from the organization of Hindu Helpline, in 2013; and Tamil Ratna award for the Tamil Sangam of New York.
